Single use plastic

About myself

I started making soaps a few years ago because I couldn't find what I was wanting to buy. I wanted a soap that was natural, free from potentially harmful chemicals, and didn't use artificial fragrances. And a soap bar, not a liquid in a plastic bottle.

So I started playing with recipes and making soaps for friends, and it led on from there. I did some training too, and started selling at craft fairs, and was really encouraged by the response.

My stance is to be as eco as possible, so the soaps are either wrapped or bagged in compostable cellophane or glassine paper, and the creams are in aluminium tins. I use essential oils which not only smell wonderful but are good for the skin. I do use some colour, because that is fun, but not in all soaps so there is plenty to choose from if you want to avoid those.

I am a member of the Guild of Craft Soap and Toiletry Makers, and all recipes are safety assessed by a cosmetic chemist, as required by law.
